Sorry for interrupting your discussion. Can any one help me how is the taxi fare calculated in Mumbai? Last time I was there in Mumbai, a year back, the taxi-wallas sometimes told me that they have old meter so they have a different way of calculation different from those having new meters. Is it true? What is the minimum fare? It will be very much helpful if someone can give atleast an estimated rate per KM so that i can tally with GMaps. Thanks

You must have visited when they were in the process of changing from mechnical to electronic ones.Nw all meters are electronics so no problem. Minimum fare is Rs.20 for first 1.5 kms ,if u have android phone download mdicator app,very good app if u r using public transport in mumbai.You wil also get fares for taxi and rick
