Forgive me for my ignorance but where is the location of Guiyang and how come there are so many highrises there? Is that one if the important cities in China and what's its importance if there are?
^
It's the capital of the Guizhou province (in the southwest). It's importance is relative to its region, but outside of Guizhou it isn't exactly the most talked about city.
prosperity of Chinese cities is built on the low price of food(rice, flour etc)
farmers in Guizhou are very very very poor, once I took T61 from Kunming to Beijing, when it went through Guizhou province,I even couldn't believe my eyes that there are still such large and poor areas in China today...from that time on,I always take a plane from Beijing to Kunming,or vice versa, coz I really don't want to see those poor areas, just break my heart...
besides, one of my roomates is from Guizhou province,u definitely can't imagine how poor he/his family is. even with stipend for poor students,I don't see him living a good life..
oops!I’m off the topic..it's an elegant building indeed
