that looks like a really busy airport.
is it common in europe to disembark from a plane via a bus and not an apron?

Whatever happened to that terminal where the roof collapse happened? Are they still using it?

2E is not being used. That portion will be demolished and rebuilt. There is actually a news thread in the aviation forum about it : http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=178074

I've had to board a bus to reach the aircraft at Frankfurt and Munich airports. The practice is quite common there, although I didn't have to do that for Paris, Geneva, and London.

At Charles de Gaulle the buses are used, I already used them twice last year flying with Air France, but the buses have a special system that make them to go up and down, so they go up untill they reach the airplane door and then it go down as its normal height, and it makes the same process to reach the embarquement bridge.
