what a pile of shit. at least the top 30 floors are actually quite good as otherwise this would have no redeeming features.

just unbelievable we are approving towers with 30-40m of blank black mesh shit as the face of the building to people at ground level.

Agreed...just fucking hideous. Imagine what the mesh will look like in ten years.

That's my worry too. If it looks that bad now I don't even want to think about the future of that, especially in such a prominent spot.

I hate podium car parks. And like JP has said before, there is no reason why there can't be a skin of apartments with the car park behind.

GRRRRR

One place in Melbourne where an awning like that is necessary... that way you can't look up and see the monstrosity from the pavement.

Just following along those lines, the awnings at the Jam Factory in South Yarra have been taken down and the place looks fantastic.

It looks terrible in real life too

For such a prominent spot it's a pity they didn't do a better job than use that mesh.

The building nearby with the blue square visual piece on the top makes more of a visual impact. Forgive my ignorance I have no idea what the name of it is but it always catches my eye, even with the choice of 10 or more similar sized towers to perv on.

Bank Apartments?

I don't mind that one from some angles but from others it can look awkward.

Yes! Just googled it. It's nothing stellar but for some reason I always look.

I tried for the same shot only recently. Moray Street parallels Clarendon, and has a nicely balanced frame of the City. "fraid mine is too dark.
