Ahhhh, such a respite to see Seattle and Dallas after visiting the World's Best Skylines thread . . . . That place is too hectic.

Philadelphia:

Work on the Comcast Technology Center is looking good! But I still can't get over the fact that Philadelphia will soon be home to the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere outside of New York and Chicago. Atlanta deserves that spot.

I had to Google that building. 341m! Great to see it happening in one of the big old eastern cities. Philadelphia should enjoy it will it lasts as Toronto's 385 Yonge is proposed at 344m.

San Francisco's skyline always felt stumpy but that new tallest is fixing that.

The title has been shifting a bit lately. It used to be Atlanta, but I believe Los Angeles currently has the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere outside of Chicago and New York (the Wilshire Grand Center).

Monterrey in Mexico has Torre Insignia it is planned to be 330 m but there are a lot of rumours of an increase in height so it might sneak there, we´ll see. Sorry for the bad english.

Looks like a horse race is developing although I think we'd rather have the tallest. 3rd behind New York and Chicago doesn't sit well. I guess we still have the tallest structure.

And before Atlanta it was Toronto (1967-1992). Believe it or not, Montreal had the tallest outside of New York from 1962-1964 but then Chicago shot past it and never looked back.

I think you need to read what the conversation was pertaining to. Check post #8348.

Cleveland's Terminal Tower begs to differ. Then Boston's Prudential held the title from 1964-1969, when Chicago passed it with both the John Hancock Center and the Chase Tower.
