Even the lake by Arch wasn't looking so good today, could this be because of the heat?

In front of Saba Towers, there is a Shopping Arcade by the Apparel Group, ie: Outlets such as Nine West, Tommy Hilfiger, Kenneth Cole, Aldo & Tim Hortons, Cold Stone Creamery, Booksplus to name a few...

Pedestrian crossing lights have been erected at the crossings near Cluster V and Emirates Gold factory. They're not in operation yet, but expect traffic delays when yet are.
To allow people to cross a 5 lane road (just over 16 metres), the time for each traffic light operation will be at least 30 seconds. There always should have been pedestrian bridges at these places, not lights.

Not sure I agreee with that idea, it would be more realistic to educate the motoring public on the etiquette and rules of a pedestrian crossing. These crossing are already tables meaning that the vehicles naturally have to reduce speed to cross them. It should be noted that only the North side of JLT has speed bumps (The scourge of mototing humanity) and raised crossings. There is nothing in the South side, Why is this?

The more urgent need for controlled crossing areas are where the tragic death occured close to Al Mazaya business avenue where there is no provision for pedetrians whatsoever and also across the parallel road behind jlt and the meadows

There is a crossing there now, from I cluster side to Mazaya just after the bridge, and the rest of the central res. is fenced.
I am not sure I would dare to cross there though as drivers come over that bridge very fast.

If they didn't mess around with the car parking a couple of years ago, there wouldn't be so many people crossing the roads in the north side of JLT. My window looks out on the crossing opposite the gold factory, I'm amazed no-one has been killed or seriously injured crossing the road there. It was even worse before they painted the lines on the speed bump as previously, the only other indication that it was a pedestrian crossing was hidden behind a Subway sign.

I also noticed in the area between the outer JLT wall and SZR opposite Cluster R, they're doing some major looking excavations and have some huge (diameter) lengths of pipe. No idea what it's for, probably not going to be anything to do with linking the lake to the Marina though?

I was looking at that also a few days ago. The only logical explanation I could come up with was that it's for the Blue Waters infrastructure.

Not very logical it's the wrong end of the marina, we returned from holidays on the 16th to find the area beneath Damac properties metro flooded and water spilling onto the roadside. A more plausible explanation I would think is that they are looking to finally connect the lakes with the Marina for water circulation. If this is correct its about blooming time
