Yep. Also much as the guy is a pain, he did get this one right.

Wonder if he ever left the 'mark' on the site he was planning to do

People would post a photo of the Pinnacle site filled with work men and Sony33 would call it a ghost town.

Maybe they should have a collection box outside the site for funds.

Talks resume on London landmark
Work on The Pinnacle, a tower set to become the City of London's tallest if it is completed, could soon restart as Saudi Economic and Development Company (Sedco) is in talks to secure a lifeline from its German lender.

According to property sources in the British capital, the Sharia-compliant wealth management organisation headquartered in Jeddah is close to securing a three-year extension to its £140 million (Dh830.6m) loan from the German bank HSH Nordbankthat is due to expire this month

Full story:

They are clearly very keen to proceed with this venture

unfortunately not, that is infact very inaccurate there are around 10 million people in London and this buildings cost is £500 - 1000 millions worth so everyone would have to donate more like £100 :P well, that is if they had 0 money im not sure how much they need to get back on their feet again... but yeh a quid each wouldn't be enough still, however it seems they dont even have enough money to make any construction what so ever so i guess they do need hundreds of millions

I am in Guangzhou at the moment and have discovered that they stole our Pinnacle even if they redesigned it slightly

The pinnacle would be pretty insignificant in guangzhou size-wise, and that building you posted is pretty isnt going to get too many as excited as the pinnacle here.

oh and dont forget your sunglasses when you do the pearl river boat tour at night! Ive never seen so much neon and 35 storey TVs!

I walked past yesterday and saw a few BM guys nearby (could have been for another project) and power work vans on site. I've been told BM are close to taking over control, anyone heard anything more on this story?

Thanks Bobdobbs. Went up the Guangzhou TV tower today but as usual the air quality was really poor so photos are lousy. Also very expensive!!! I saw the plan lay-outs for the new city developments and it is very impressive.
