2% of Round Rock ...

.... the other 98% of it is uncontrolled growth and sprawl filled with walmarts, targets, best buys, home depots, strip centers, outlets, gas stations, walgreens, cookie cutter houses and streets that don't seem to fit together. It left this Houstonian with wonder and awe. Finally, I found an area that put Houston to shame.
However, I was able to find its very small heart, still beating (barely).

And the rock that gave Round Rock its name:

And the DT:

Adios

The name suits the city well. Great photos.

Round Rock is Austin's largest suburb with a population now aproaching 100,000 people.

Hey RGV, I think Georgetown would be a great place to take some photos next time you're in Williamson County. The downtown and surrounding neighborhoods are very historic, and well-maintained. There is also Southwestern University just east of downtown with some nice architecture. Also, I think the San Gabriel River is beautiful and would make for some great photographs.

I think that Georgetown is Austin's best suburb. I also like San Marcos alot, and although it is in Austin's metro, I really don't consider it a suburb.

Yeah Nic, I actually asked my brother-in-law to drive me out there. But he's lazy and just took me to RR's DT area and the river across I-35 where the round rock is located.
