Stunning...we used to rent a house on the opposite side of the lake from here during the summers a few years ago, one of the best views in Canada. I love the Okanagan - and I LOVE wine. For North America, I think its the nicest wine region in terms of looks, and Mission Hill is the nicest winery. Niebaum-Coppola, Mondavi, and Ferrari-Carano are beautiful as well (Napa/Sonoma) - but just doesn't have the "wow" factor I find with Mission Hills grounds/view.

Not my favourite wine from Canada though - if you go back, check out Quail's Gate (just down the street - the best late-harvest wines), Burrowing Owl (a bit further north), and Cedar Creek (on the other side - one of the best Pinot Noirs available, Platinum 2002).

Mission hill winery is great! It's just down the road from my place. I love it when the bells ring. They ring at noon and at 5:00 PM. I've biked there a few times, and its got a stunning view.

^Mission Hill? Of course anyone can take a tour - and it is a nice winery to tour (I've seen quite a few wineries, and this compares nicely with some of the mid-large ones in Sonoma/Napa).

However, for a great wine-making tour, I found Quail's Gate to be one of the best - and their Late Harvest wine is fanastic (as is a few of their whites).

The Okanagan is booming with wine activity - licensed wineries have grown from 17 in 1990 to 101 last year...22 still awaiting approval. The many varietals keeps growing, as does the talent and quality.
