The project is located to the north of Wenling old town. Flanked by two water ways, the site has a position of high visibility, excellent views, access and as the iconic head of the dragon theme of the precinct masterplan. The undulating canal which ties together the master plan definies the architecture, landscape and site circulation.

The key design objectives are to manifest the city of Wenling amongst China’s great cities. The architecture will immerse the hotel guest in an urban resort environment and create an active destination point that will enrich the quality of living for local residents and business people.

Car and pedestrian movements are well separated. While vehicular access happens along the northern boundary, pedestrians access all retail functions from the southern active edge where low level retail/ F&B are extended to the water’s edge.

An arcing tower with tapered upward massing integrated with a watery landscape frames spaces of activity to the south. A grand courtyard as its centerpiece has a secure and welcoming arrival space on the north at the tower’s base. Guestrooms will overlook the city of Wenling and its mountainous landscape while the tower itself will become a focal point of the city. An independent ballroom building reaching towards the eastern edge of the site creates a lower scale entry element to the project.

核心提示：温岭银泰超高层五星级酒店项目占地面积为58亩，规划总建筑面积为16万平方米，项目位于温岭城市新区核心区，是温岭银泰城综合体项目之一。

8月24日上午，温岭市城西街道，温岭银泰（专题阅读）超高层五星级酒店项目正式奠基。这座高达238米以上的超高层建筑将成为台州新地标，以全新的高度诠释温岭形象。

　　据了解，温岭银泰城综合体项目总占地面积202亩，隶属于中国银泰集团。是银泰集团在国内所做的10多个城市综合体中体量最大、功能最齐、投资最大的项目之一。该项目规划总建筑面积为70万平方米，总投资预计为60亿元，主要由银泰百货购物中心、超高层五星级酒店以及银泰超高层写字楼、商住楼等组成，计划在2015年年底前全部建成。

　　温岭银泰超高层五星级酒店项目占地面积为58亩，规划总建筑面积为16万平方米，项目位于温岭城市新区核心区，是温岭银泰城综合体项目之一。

于去年2月份正式启动的温岭银泰购物中心，是银泰城综合体的核心部分，占地面积48亩，总投资6亿多元。目前地下二层已完成地面水泥浇面，9月下旬开始进行购物中心主体施工。预计在2013年8月底前开业。

　　据银泰方面透露，超高层五星级酒店目前建筑方案正在优化，投资方正与希尔顿（拓展选址信息）洽谈合作事宜。

In my sweet childhood memory, the tallest structure in town was a 7-storey-building just across the street with a food store on the ground floor selling numerous lollies and chocs, all jolly good except that my deciduous teeth were the only casualties......and my granny lectured me that i should throw the fallen teeth from the lower jaw onto the 7-storey-building's roof, as a symbol of urging the permanent teeth to grow faster towards the right direction.

Yes, there are a dozen of High-rises, with heights around about 100M, had already been built or are still under construction in Wenling's new CBD area where this project will be located.
The reason for not building taller ones is due to the quite restrict local fire codes (the firefighters are relatively poorly equipped compare to their counterparts in bigger cities), however, this will be the first building in the city not toeing the 200M limitation line for some reason.
