• The Club has submitted planning for the THFC Environmental Centre and Nature Reserve to the London Borough of Enfield

• The scheme represents a major long-term investment by the Club, builds on the success of the delivery of the Enfield community programming over the last six years and is a significant extension to the S106 commitment

• The facility would include a purpose-built education facility with classrooms and a nature reserve with boardwalks, wildflower walks and meadow, and ponds for outdoor-based learning alongside a top level multi-use sports pitch

• The Nature Reserve would be managed by Capel Manor College who would offer a dedicated education programme that will be designed and delivered in consultation with teachers from Enfield and linked to the National Curriculum

The proposed THFC Environmental Centre and Nature Reserve will see the development of a high quality, multi-purpose, fully accessible and flexible education building including two classrooms, four changing rooms, staff facilities and outdoor teaching space.

It would include the creation of a new, organically-managed nature reserve and nature conservation area bringing wildflower walks, natural flora and fauna and wildlife to this part of Enfield and providing school children in the Borough with the opportunity to explore and learn in the natural environment and countryside.

The scheme will also facilitate outdoor activities and sports with a new Desso pitch, maintained to Premier League standard.

The training centre never ceases to amaze me.

Is this going to be located across the road from the main entrance?

My uneducated guess it's in the north west of the site.

Just looked through the plans for the eco centre and the basement is a little OTT. Home, away and referee change, medical office and treatment room, laundry and boot clean. That with the 2 x 250 seated stands either side of the desso pitch I think this plan will replace the 500 seater stand and the under 23s will play their home games here.

Former England defender Ugo Ehiogu has died after collapsing at Tottenham Hotspur's training ground.

The 44-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest at the club's Enfield headquarters on Thursday morning.

Emergency services had been scrambled to the scene at about 11.30am and Ehiogu was taken to hospital but died in the early hours of Friday morning.

The club said in a statement: "It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Ugo Ehiogu, our under-23 coach.

"Ugo received immediate treatment after suffering a cardiac arrest at the training centre yesterday before being transferred to hospital where he passed away in the early hours of this morning."

Perhaps i'm wrong, but is this development of the enviromental centre our way of enabling us to get permission to have 2 stands either side of the new multi use pitch? Pretty sure i saw a pic with i think 2x 400 seaters.

Didn't Enfield council reject previous plans for a stand?

Spurs applied for, and won, consent to build a 500 seat stand for the main academy / development squad pitch. That was a couple of years ago now but, as far as we know, Spurs haven't yet even started on it. Seems to have been mothballed.

I haven't seen anything about there being a second stand on the other side of the pitch. Seems unlikely to me. Nor have I seen anything about Enfield council refusing permission for any of our plans thus far.

Yeah there's 2 x 250 seater stands and whilst the planning application centres around educational use and 4 mini pitches there are tell tale signs that the under 23s will use it.

- the 2 250 seater stands
- the pitch will be desso - they wouldn't spend that amount of money on a pitch for school kids
- the changing rooms meet UEFA requirements

All the above meet the requirements needed to be a category one academy and plus the fact spurs have never built the 500 seater stand they got planning for years ago.
