I'm really encouraged by the Queen's Exchange building. Some really high quality tenants could really help stimulate the area (I understand Deloitte are looking for new premises in Nottingham).

When you look at what Nottingham has to offer long term i don't think it wouldnt take much for it to take off. It's got so much already in place and just needs a couple of pieces to be added. When you look at the money being sunk into London at the moment a fraction would go a long way in Nottingham and I can't see it being a bad investment long term.

I find it odd how much the city is expanding towards that side... I would've thought that the natural way to go would be south and east-bound due to the river and transport links.

All in all good news though!

LOL, surely that second one must have HMP somewhere in the title ?

On residential, I noticed this amazing feature wall in a show house at Edwalton Park at the weekend…

That was on the higher end £650k house. I wonder if the shared ownership houses there have walls featuring the Broadmarsh bus station or Eastcroft

Unrelated to the thread but more a sign of the times, the sales advisor told me that everything that wasn't nailed down was being stolen regularly and that even included the light bulbs!

I'm surprised people who view £600k houses want to steal light bulbs

Opposite the main student entrance to NTU Newton & Arkwright, a few doors down from Rock City, between Rescue Rooms and Horn in the hand. Was formally Posh Spice and Templers.

I've created a thread with more renders and further info if anyone's interested:

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1985650

I must admit, it looks very smart! Great formation, sleek lines and quality materials by the looks of it, the scale is also just enough to give it a boost in its location.

Crane fans: Cranbrook St will be closed this weekend so a crane can be erected as part of the 1 Hockley development:

Fantastic new this morning, the billion pound proposals for the Island site

"The development will create a sustainable urban neighbourhood, including a vibrant residential community and diverse business community, on a brown field site close to Nottingham station"

That looks awfully similar to the Trafford Water proposals in Manchester don't you think Sherwood?

Minor thing, but Google have finally updated the aerial imagery for Nottingham, and we appear to have joined the 21st Century in that they've provided 3D images of buildings, bringing us into line with other cities.

The images on there before were ancient, must have been from 2008 or so.
