If there aren't planning regs preventing abominations like that, there should be.

I used to go in that pub back in the 90's. It was a lovely quaint place, I can not believe what they have done to it. Someone should be very, very ashamed of themselves.

It's time's like this when you kind of preferred a Tesco Express or Sainsbury's local to have purchased it. I cant imagine them plastering over the lovely fašade.

Who at the council has allowed this? Surely there are certain criteria that need to be met?

Might be to make the area look more exotic, however I'm not sure a Brazilian favela theme is the way to go.

Surely it doesn't planning permission unless there is an Article 4 direction or Community Asset order in place.

You need something to enforce before reporting it.

No you don't, you can enquire. If there's a case then they will investigate and take action where they can. If not they will also let you know.

Planning isn't generally needed to convert a pub to a shop, it isn't in a conservation area, it isn't listed, so you need something else.

I've mentioned this elsewhere, but I'll just include the relevant snippet in the correct thread too:

St Vincent’s was at one time the focal point of Sheffield’s Irish community, but has been unused for two decades and has been regularly targeted by vandals.

How St Vincent's Church could look.

Nearby, Southern Grove (Hollis Croft) Ltd wants to build a 246-bed complex between Hollis Croft and Garden Street.
