I've seen Garbage, Idlewild, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Mogwai, Arcade Fire there. Idlewild were surprisingly a bit boring live - same drum beat on every song did my head in. Arcade Fire were really good - typically full of energy and so exciting. Mogwai were very loud and a perfect pre-Christmas gig.

I came across this duo from London who seem to be repping retro CR Smith cellick taps and cans of Irn Bru and writing songs about being in the pub. I can relate to all three.

Also wanted to see Thundercat.

Glasgow's underground scene has been pretty healthy for as long as I've been going to gigs about the city, and that's only the garage/fuzz pedal rock stuff going on in Sleazys/Broadcast and the old Roxy 171 supplemented with the occasional night of Subby or La Cheetah when I got kbd from Subby or Berkely Suite if there was suhin good on.

But then consider we have an apparently class reggae/dub scene too, and then there's the balkanarama stuff that goes on too. And if you want to go and listen to bam cannons and bam horns and happy hardcore, you can too!

I've no been to as many gigs recently but, but I'm big into Shredd these days. Watch oot for them

Owners of King Tuts reported to feel threatened by new hotel proposal next door - that they'll be subject to complaints about noise. Hotel owners say they've already reached out to King Tuts months ago to safeguard the venue from any potential complaints.

If anyone is going to see Radiohead in Glasgow Green, you'll be in for a treat going by this Glastonbury performance.

The series of concerts at the Kelvingrove bandstand seem to have been a major sucess. Let's hope they continue.

Given the amount of (very welcome) amount of public money that allowed its refurbishment - let's hope also that these concerts have given the venue a revenue stream that will allow more free entertainment to be put on in future.

The Brian Wilson gig was excellent.

Was reading somewhere that the promoters are investing in a new temporary roof!

Agree about the free entertainment though. Open up to local bands etc.

The Hollywood bowl has a regular series of cheap lunchtime classical and jazz concerts on. You can bring your picnic in with you. Even something like that would be good.
