Better yet -- the whole of RHD should be re-vamped starting with top-management. Look at where we got in the last ten years and where Pakistan/India did. Our road-network development should have easily matched theirs but on a smaller scale.

Apparently the Dhaka -Sylhet road was financed by world bank so the fact that this road is so thin is because there has been theft from it big time.

But at the same time our geography also has a part to play, being a delta and crisscrossed by over 200 rivers means that we have to build lot more bridges for connectivity than say Pakistan or Srilanka. Perhaps so (major rivers are impediment to building freeways), but what prevented (and prevents) them from building a major freeway or two around greater Dhaka metropolitan area?

If densely populated places like Hong Kong and Singapore can have freeways, it is imminently possible in Bangladesh.
