You can be Muslim and believe in secular ideology. Yes he was not secular himself as he was muslim & as in the sense didnt say "let's seperate state and religion" No! He believed that religion should not be in conflict with understanding and knowledge. Nevertheless, Averroes was the first to come out with the idea that lead to secularism. His idea was as translated from arabic: "Reconciliation between the inherited and the understood" which is the very basis of secularism, even though today it's defined as "Seperation".

The concept of promoted arrived a wee tad before

Matthew 22:15-22 - They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

Those who highly idealized notions of an ideology or religion that will attempt to marginalizes or discredit others or history due to inherent narcissism of utopianesque movements. In some movements (Christianity and Islam) calendars and time is often counted according to pivotal juncture deemed important to them. The leaders of the French Revolution and Khmer Rouge also implemented this quality in their zeal of a "new age". Needless to say the new doesn't always act more civilized then the old.

This timeline of science and engineering in the Islamic world covers both the classical Islamic Golden Age (usually dated from the 7th to 16th centuries) and the post-classical period (after the 16th century). From the 19th century onwards, the advances by Muslim scientists and engineers occurred both within and outside of the Islamic world. All year dates are given according to the Gregorian calendar except where noted

What about in the last 100-200 years? What are the most recent major Islamic inventions?

Lol, silly me. They forgot to include the concept of "Shaheed".

But if the point is to show off Islamic inventions, then wouldn't it make sense to include a comprehensive list? And btw, you're welcome to include a comprehensive list! I'd like to see all the great inventions that I should be thankful for.

Sorry, they are too many to make a comprehensive list.

Why is this douche so dismissive? (just because he's a Jew or something?) What the hell did he contribute to civilization?!

Listen, you might be slow or something, and no one is looking for your approval, trust ( ), but the fact that the older inventions outnumber the new ones doesn't make it all irrelevant as you and others seem to imply. What kind of crazed logic is that anyway?

As for that shaheed comment (LAME!)...what a gross, disgusting puny-brained attempt to trivialize an entire civilization.

Go learn something already.

From Wikipedia:

"Abū 'l-Walīd Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn Rushd (Arabic: أبو الوليد محمد بن احمد بن رشد‎), better known just as Ibn Rushd (Arabic: ابن رشد‎), and in European literature as Averroes (pronounced /əˈvɛroʊ.iːz/) (1126 – December 10, 1198), was an Andalusian-Arab Muslim polymath: a master of Islamic philosophy, Islamic theology, Maliki law and jurisprudence, logic, psychology, politics, Arabic music theory, and the sciences of medicine, astronomy, geography, mathematics, physics and celestial mechanics. He was born in Córdoba, modern day Spain, and died in Marrakech, modern day Morocco. His school of philosophy is known as Averroism. He has been described as the founding father of secular thought in Western Europe.

His name is also seen as Averroës, Averroès or Averrhoës, indicating that the "o" and the "e" form separate syllables. Averroes is a Latinate distortion of the actual Arab name Ibn Rushd.[3]"

Zaryab was such an amazing person, he was like an everything man, music , art dance food and dining and cooking make up hygene cosmetics etc

amazing

and heres more of an innovation rather than invention , but anyway

many sourced indocate that zaryab (zyryab in espanol) was the creator and founder of flamenco music,

spanish legends and stories say that he himself invented the guitar , by changing the persian "barbat" into the modern guitar
