You mean subforum. The city of Houston needs to pay out the $400,000 fee that goes with the application to the skyscraper board to honor the request. Chicago did this back in 2002 when the price was only $275,000.

It's obvious. Houston just isn't large enough or world class enough like Atlanta, Dallas, New Orleans, Nashville, Charlotte, etc. Those cities don't even have one yet and they are miles ahead of Houston in size, skyline, and overall global city status.

Just messin' with you.

Same reason why Dallas doesn't have one either.

When Houston will get its own tread? When it gets a tire.

It depends on how active discussions about a city get. Houston is a great city, one of my fav in the US, but right now, the discussions are not enough for an own sub-forum.

There is plenty. Houston has its own local forum (which has over 230,000 posts and 4,700 members).

Maybe that is why it is so light over here on SSC? Get 50-75 of those people over here to post reguarly about Houston happenings and you will get a sub-forum in not time, IMO. Notice that the sub forums are far more than just building threads, transit, infrastructure and activities also play a large role, all of which Houston has plenty to talk about.

yep. The same for Dallas as well. I think these two cities have the largest city based forums on the internet if I'm not mistaken. Maybe St. Louis's forum is just as large.

HAIF is at 231,000 posts, Dallas Metropolis is at 191,000 posts, and Urban St. Louis is at 113,000 posts.

HAIF was actually completely destroyed in 2004, and lost about 40,000 posts

It happens all the time on the internet. HAIF was not as secure back then as it is now (it is VERY secure now).

I used to be a regular on HAIF from 2001 till 2004. After it was destroyed I quit going. It just was not the same. Way too many new immature people flooded the site.
