This was one of my favourite threads on CE forum, now well-buried in European Forums archives. I thought I might establish a CZ thread and start it with a link from the old thread:
Reconstruction is underway in Trojská, the tracks around Nádraží Holešovice will follow in April. However when the trams will start running across the new bridge is now unclear. (Not that it's the most important route in Prague. )
Prague's 15T contract modified:
- contract extended by four years
- price remains the same
- (new?) trams should be equipped by aircon (and wifi)
- extended warranty
In the statistics in DPP annual reports the number of vehicle km is given - e.g. currently about 47 million p.a. for trams. Given that most 15 metre Tatras travel in coupled sets, I wonder would this mean that the km for each car is counted, even if coupled, or, when they're coupled, the km for the set?
Try checking this unofficial database (please not that the data are filled in manually by enthusiasts, so the coverage is limited). Apparently, just 1803 is running recently, usually on line 9.
There was also an online tool for vehicle monitoring, but I don't know if it's running nowadays (shows nothing here, but my connection is filtered etc.).
Yesterday the Prague 4 council accepted the extension of tram track through Pankrác, the site of currect high rise buildings and hopefully future site of skyscrapers.
Is it my correct interpretation of this press release that DPP will continue to buy 32 15Ts per year after completion of the current order of 250 trams?
Looks like there was quite a party at the DPP press department.
The statement is not exactly clear, but it might mean some general plan for a fleet renewal, not necessarilly by 15Ts.
On reviewing my translation I figured that the 32 a year is the balance of the order for 250, not additional to this order.
If 15T is successful, why would they do fleet replacement with different trams? Has anybody figured how many 30 metre trams would be needed for complete fleet replacement considering coupled sets of two are replaced each time. Something between 500 and the present 1,000 I imagine.
there is reference to a table comparing tram costs in various world cities, but it is not reproduced here. Has anybody seen this table (e.g. in MF Dnes) and is it on the web somewhere?
Also it looks like they're keeping the 14Ts after all.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
