Now that you mentioned it, why GA didn't order with options in the PR? I thought that it is the standard practice to order with option to lock down price...

Didn't think at that far. Looks like it's obvious that GA is far more conservative right now, or maybe they just found a brand new strategy which will see them rely on their widebody for the growth?

Widebody is AFAIK designed for longer route with minimum cycle of landing/takeoff. Boeing have no regional (or simply, short hop working horse) version of widebody. Airbus has the plan of A333R. SQ uses derated 777s for their SIN-CGK route. So maybe GA is waiting for the A333R fixed plan for their "People Mover" system, or waiting for cheap 777s to use/lease as short-hop working horse.

Boeing narrowbody options are not currently urgent as, the 50 are guaranteed until 2023, other than expected growth order that come from lessor(s) orderbook. Boeing's 737 queue are full until mid 2020s (CMIIW), so this one order guarantees it. I appreciate the roadmap taken by Pak Emir & team at the end of Pak Emir's time in GA, at least, they are not adding more types than it should in their quantum leap program.

hari ini saya sedih banget, mendengar salah satu Expatriat di tempat saya bekerja, berpidato tentang customer statisfaction,
samplingnya adalah garuda, kenapa garuda?

karena minggu lalu dia ke surabaya (tepatnya hari sabtu), bermasalah dengan bagasinya yang tidak ada,

kronologi diceritakan dengan lengkap , intinya adalah
ketika hari sabtu staf yang membantu tidak seperti hari biasa,
janji jam 6 malam bagasi akan dantar ke hotel, kenyatannya jam 12 malam,

staf GA memberikan nomor telepon tapi tidak ada yang mengangkat,

dia berpesan, Awas jangan seperti garuda dalam hal melayani customer,

selanjutnya untuk periode pulang dari juanda ke jakarta ada masalah lagi,

dia berjanji akan berbicara lagi disemua karyawan minggu depan,

mohon dijadikan koreksi, terus terang saya sedih mendengarnya

Masalah bagasi tertinggal memang lumayan sering terjadi untuk penumpang transit yg terlalu mepet waktunya dan juga mereka yg last minute check in.

Oh iya, tadi iseng2 cek LF/Booking pax rute CGK - LGW Garuda Indonesia dan menurut saya berkembang dg baik,

Ehm, seperti yang diduga sebelumnya, performa F nya gak memuaskan, sampe kosong gitu. Dan J di AMS-LGW vv juga kurang meyakinkan. Penuhnya cuman di Y, jangan2 yang promo kemaren 99 Euro.

Sampe skrg gw masih berpendapat, bahkan semakin yakin, tag AMS-LGW nya gak perlu.

Sektor AMS CGK load nya tambah lama tambah bagus, padahal kemarin2 pas dimulai nonstop flight rada mengkhawatirkan isinya Asal yield nya nggak ancur aja ga masalah sih

Btw, kira2 bisa ditrack nggak yah pax yang langsung dari CGK ke LGW, atau sebaliknya? Penasaran dari sekian banyak pax di sektor itu, yang terusan dari CGK ada berapa yah...

I think, despite the discounted fare, it's a good progress nonetheless. GA needs to introduce itself to the market and it's a lil too ambitious to get full F, J and Y for an airline that is rarely hyped out out there (unlike the lucky and legendary neighbouring airline). Considering that CGK-AMS has F and it's not that empty on some days, it's def a progress.
GA needs to hype itself more to be noticed and AMS-LGW tag on has helped in enabling some people to do flight report on that sector. Flight report is a good marketing tool for people out there.

IMHO, banyak yang blom tau kalau GA punya CGK-LONDON with 1 stop. Most of my friends jalan2 gak tau GA punya route london. Mereka pake silk ke SIN dan sambung pake SQ.
GA perlu naikin marketing di kota-kota luar Jakarta seperti Bandung, dll kalau GA terbang ke london (gatwick sih, bukan heathrow)

Yield wise, terakhir kali temenku pesen tiket harganya di atas trio middle east. Mestinya yieldnya gak jelek2 amat dong. Gak tau kalau costnya GA tinggi lho...

Beberapa kali saya cek sih yg dari CGK lanjut LGW/ sebaliknya sekitar 50-80 orang.

Oh iya, untuk tgl 19Okt'nya CGK-AMS dpt 6F/33J/255Y dan AMS-LGW'nya 3F/13J/262Y.
Harapan saya sih semoga kedepannya bisa terus berkembang karena menurut saya rute ini masih tergolong baru dan sebagian pengguna jasa penerbangan belum tau kalau Garuda ada flight CGK-LGW. Wait and see aja gimana perkembangan rute ini di semester awal tahun depan.

FYI good people, kalau dulunya rute ini digadang2 akan jadi jalur penumpang menuju Australia, itu memang benar terealisasi sekarang. Yang dari LGW sebagian besar memang ke Australia, cuma bukan ke SYD seperti yg direncanakan dulu, tetapi malah tujuan Perth, makannya GA724 CGK-PER yg dulunya STD jam 10'an disesuaikan menjadi jam 12'an, itupun masih sering delay karena waiting transit pax XGA089.
