https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/opinion-uae-fighter-contest-will-be-one-to-watch-443385/

Something we haven't talked about lately is the UAE's next fighter aircraft choice.

Not so long ago it was all about the Rafael, maybe the Typhoon, or even the Eagle/Super Hornet.

Now those days are gone, and it's a the F-35, and SU-35 who seem to be the front runners.

Now this is actually the most interesting aviation news out of the UAE of late, and I'm really interested to see which decision will be made.

What's your take on this guys???

SU-35? I would be stunned if UAE buys Russian planes. But then Saudia bought Russian S-400 so I guess anything can happen. And UAE is pumping money into MC-21. Still SU-35 is a dinosaur compared to F-35 and even the latest European fighter jets. They should at least try to get SU-57 if they must buy Russian.

In India it is just going to be cut throat competition!! Besides the airlines in India are ultra-powerful from a lobbying standpoint, that will go against any airline with foreign ties there!!
True but if they could use the airline to feed EK and the Dubai hub, then even running the Indian low cost airline at a loss will be worth it.

They should enter those other markets first before other airlines set up and start taking market share.

How they did struggle to make an Indian route work?!? And why are they making all these changes before their new CEO joins the company? Seems odd...

I honestly believe EY's demise has helped EK and QR do well even in this tough climate with heavy competition.
