Wow. It sure sounds like brand loyalty right there with the 787. But then, it has a huge fleet of Airbus A380s, so single floor would be Boeing aircraft, while two floors would be Airbus. Quite easy to remember now.

That article is nonsense, no decision has been made by Emirates to order the 787 or the A350.

Until there are official confirmations from EK, I won't really fall for this news.

I tried out both 787 and A350 and they're both fantastic aircraft! Therefore, I'd love it if EK orders both type. I'd really love to see the A350-1000 and B787-10 in EK livery someday

It's scary how this news about the Emirates 787 order has spread through out the media. I see newspapers that prominently have "winner of the Pulitzer Prize" on their website running it as a story. Nobody seems to be checking sources anymore, publishing nonsense just because aviation media have also published it.

If they would have checked the source they would have known that this analyst that made this story up is in fact not a real analyst. He has run a similar story already 3 times now. The last couple of times there was no order, and I fully believe that this time around there will still be no order as Emirates is waiting this one out until they can fully move to their new airport in 2025. And they don't have to order new aircraft 8 years in advance, that's been there, done that, not anymore for them.

The 1st time this analyst ran this story a couple of years ago it was quickly followed by a remark from Emirates CEO that the 787-10 was under powered for the hot climate in Dubai. As this story is now becoming too big to ignore I'm waiting for a similar kind of statement. Just to level the playing field in their negotiations with both Airbus and Boeing.

The 787 EK rumours are there to pile pressure on Airbus to provide leverage on a good price for a order of A330neos for their shorter haul sub 4 hour flights. And id be remiss if i didn't say it was another way for them to try and get Airbus to manufacture a A380neo-900 that can carry an extra third more passengers and fly as long as the present A380 in order to have more seats available for EKs top 20 or 25 A380 routes, and then offer the A380 on maybe 30 other routes.

Theres more to the rumour, I'm sure there are politics in there too.

No. Norwegian Air Shuttle holds different registrations for its aircraft, especially that part of its operations is based in Ireland (as it wants to hold a larger footprint in the United States rather than just be stuck with the traditional airports). It has the following registrations:

B788: LN (Norway)
B789: G, LN

Those G-registration aircraft will be based out of LGW and other UK airports as it will expand its long-haul presence even further.
