They would need many more such tunnels in the future to ensure better connectivity in mountainous regions.

That type of driving is far too dangerous for our roads. The driver of that Volvo is an absolute tool who needs immediate counseling.

Driving at 200+ km/h on Indian highways... Damn. Only two types of people would do that, a fool or a brave and adventurous man and I don't think he is a fool.

He is a fool because he won't just get himself killed but also other innocent people who were driving at a regular speed.

Not realising that his actions could lead to a fatal collision makes him more than just an ordinary fool. Use your private road to test your car's speed for YouTube (how tacky), or better still, take your Volvo to the nearest racetrack. There's one just outside Madras.

It is scary to drive above 80-100 kmph on Indian highway.

Though it takes actual skill to drive that smooth and bravery to actually drive that fast, but he is still on an 'Indian Road'. Anybody can come from any part of the road at any speed and at any kind of vehicle.

What a bloody retard, driving so irresponsibly! I have down-voted the Youtube video.

He'll get others killed, besides himself. You can have tyre bursts, vehicles can suddenly come in at a cross road, etc.

Driving beyond 120 or max 130 kmph is a strictly no-no.

Exactly!! Most tires are not rated for that speed!

It's a volvo and its drives quite stable till 180 as far as I remember. And secondly, its quite smooth a road to perform this feat. I acknowledge that its a dangerous feat, but exhilarating nonetheless.

What does Volvo's smoothness have to do with someone else changing lane in a split second? If a car driving at 80 changes lane to overtake a truck driving at 60, then will Volvo's smoothness help go down from 180 to 80 in 1 sec? Average reaction time (to apply brakes) is 0.3 sec. Does Volvo's smoothness help reduce that?

If dodging vehicles and weaving through traffic at high speed on a public highway, putting the lives of other motorists at risk as if it's a video game is considered exhilarating, then I don't know what to say. I find drivers like that selfish, attention-hungry, and frankly, I'd like to use them as crash test dummies as quickly as possible. Taking an XC90 (or any other car for that matter) to its limits on a public road is just plain daft.

To put nonsense like that on YouTube says a lot about the peasant driver TBH.

I can't imagine driving faster than 130 km/hr in America, around 70 mph on most highways in a non-sports vehicle for ANY purpose. 75 mph is the sweet spot.

That road is smooth af though. Which highway is that specifically?

That's because enforcement is pretty lax in India. I would rarely go 20 km/hr extra above the posted speed limit in Canada. If caught, I won't just have to pay heavy fines but receive demerit points and pay higher insurance premiums. Going extra by 50 km/hr over posted speed leads to licence suspension, $10,000 fine, up to 6 months of imprisonment and impounding of car. That's a risk not worth taking.

In India you can get away with small fines and most people don't even pay that. They manage an even smaller bribe. It's not the road infrastructure where we need major improvement. It is enforcement of rules and driving behaviour which need to improve.
