Newcastle visit 10-15 July

Dear all

A sample of a few of my pics from visit this last week.

Nice to see the missing Space Invader from High Bridge has been discovered and re-installed outside entrance to Motel One. Not sure it was ever "lost" but I did ask the duty manager about it's whereabouts when they first opened and he didn't know anything.

Shame to see The Rose and Crown is closed. Wonder if this is permanent, or just whilst the building work is going on? (Will read threads to find out )

DSCN1201 by stamford0001, on Flickr

Surprised to see Scrumpy Willow is gone or at least been re-named

DSCN1207 by stamford0001, on Flickr

Lots of work going on inside here

DSCN1214 by stamford0001, on Flickr

Good to see turning one of the kiosks 90 degrees had the desired effect

DSCN1234 by stamford0001, on Flickr

Anyone wanted a view inside one of Newcastle remaining outside urinals, the boards have been broken down on the one next to Sachin's / Crowne Plaza on Forth Street.

DSCN1250 by stamford0001, on Flickr

Nice to see the Urban Sciences building nearing completion and the surrounding infrastructure being finished off.

DSCN1284 by stamford0001, on Flickr

A new sponsor this summer for the Quayside Seaside I see

DSCN1317 by stamford0001, on Flickr

A bone of contention on here I know, but personally very happy to hear and see a record number of nests this Spring and these chaps doing so well

Not only Cat cafes but now also Dog cafes too - Equal Opportunity city

KEN
Anyone else here think that Rutherford Street Skyscraper is going to be in direct line of sight with the spire of St. Mary's Cathedral when viewed from Windmill Hills?
