Quite a symbolic picture I found on my hard drive that I took when coming back from NZ.

Bullswool, do you have an image editor? Try to reduce the size of the image, I can still make out the CBD at from the image reduced to 1/4 the size without any major loss of quality in Photoshop. Also, posting 1mb images on a forum is best to be avoided since not everyone has a high-speed Internet to their computers.

PS: Good shot of Perth through the smog!

Cheers, Planks.

Great shot of Melbourne! All our cities are so similar in the fact that its skyscrapers then straight to suburbia lol. No transition.

I have always loved the drive into Melbourne. The fact that you can see it before you get to the suburbs make it pretty unique I think. I actually love the way you can see it from "the sticks" so to speak.

Due to topography you have to be on top of most Australian cities before you see their skylines.

Yes, I like the way Melbourne just shoots up from the flat landscape around it, a bit like Chicago. In my view Melbourne of all cities in OZ would look the best with a couple of 3-400 meter tallies.

Except unlike Melbourne, Chicago is mostly sorrounded by prairies for a very long distance. I believe the mountains that are closest are in Colorado and North Carolina.

Love the ever spreading Gold Coast skyline. will look much denser in the years ahead.

Another attempt at Melbourne from the west
