Madurai's first shopping Mall MILAN-EM is being constructed at KK Nagar opp. to Wakf board college at the area of 90,000 sq.ft totally with G+5 Floors grand building.



This Mall is going to function as a full-fledged mall from May'10 :

As per usual SSC is THE best source of urban info on the net. shame im too early to chenk the new projects , a welcome respite ,for these seemingly old bones, to the dust n hecticness of town.
But the pics , are they from another mall or are bits of it already open?
And dont wanna be dull but anywhere to get a bit of non desi fare that wont cost me a days room rent?, IE not the taj gateway.
And dont care what anyone says the meenakshi mandir ranks with the vatican . Epic even after a 23 year break...

Dear BrandCbe,
This is not dupication...This thread is just to strengthen our Main madurai region thread by avoiding Retail-sector news,Opening of showooms,any part of city's entertainment etc.. Hereafter We can discuss the Opening of POTHYS, Entry of KIRTILAL Jewellers like news in this thread..

So that I hope we can increase the quality and reliability of our Main Madurai thread by concentrating only on Madurai's Infrastructure-related growth like Industries,SEZ's etc..This is because we see a no. of new visitors interested in posting messages in our main thread recently ...

Even I used to discuss the retail news in the main thread itself before But some of our forumers doesn't like it..Most of the people in our thread likes
to discuss on the RETAIL-Boom of Madurai...So there comes the need of starting this thread seperately..

Yesterday I saw some-one requesting Arul to start a new thread on ELCOT's southern TN IT Parks ... So I pinned IT-related news also here..

The Mall is already OPEN and not yet as a full-fledged one with Multiplex,Food-court and Kids Entertainment area..It is expected to be a full-fledged Mall by April/May 2010..

Thats fine, but i saw one more thread with the same name in the TN sub forum.
But why do we want to pin IT projects along with retail/entertainment section, when the IT in mdu gets matured/parks get open,we can go for a new thread. Let this thread be only for retail/malls update?
And let the mdu main thread focus on infrastructure/IT and others as of now.
I think i made my point.

That happened of a mistake...B/w can you tell me how to delete a posted thread bcz i dono it...

I think we can move the Madurai IT-related news to a seperate thread once the time comes...Bcz only now, TIDEL PARK works started and i hope it need atleast 1 year from now to come into operation..
IT-SEZ opp. to MKU is now only ready with the needed infra-structure and i expect atleast 2 years from now for it to be a full-fledged SEZ with all the alloted software companies..(Got experienced by seeing the time taken by ELCOT for CBE IT Park )

As of now- We have only Dhaya Cyber Park which houses ESSAR BPO and some minor software companies not biggies...

RR IT-SEZ will take atleast 3 more years tatz by 2012 acc. to their sayings for a full-fledged park..So If we start a seperate thread for Madurai IT-Parks now, there will be rare news to discuss here..will make the thread dead in few days..

B/w RETAIL Boom/Malls-Entertainment news for Madurai is coming atleast twice/thrice a month...So we can easily make the thread live with healthy discussions...That makes me pin the IT-sector news also here...

Saravana stores is supposed to come-up in the GV Studio city tatz actually the asia's largest THANGAM theater in Madurai...But no works has been started in the site yet tat makes me doubt whether the asset is in the hands of GV Films pvt.ltd or not...

I got the message from the Chennai Silks manager last year that Madurai will get its showroom by 2010-Diwali..News from reliable sources are telling that Chennai Silks is looking at Bye-pass road or Kamarajar salai for its new-showroom..

Mayajaal by now the ultimate family entertainment destination for chennaites is a 100,000 sq. ft. Centrally air-conditioned fun center.Now this fun center is going to be there in madurai within few years. Mayajaal entertainment limited has released these details in their share trading documents.They are at present in acquisition of land in madurai and coimbatore. Really feel gr8 to see that.

As video formats in the film industry follow their audio counterparts in going digital in distribution, they also seem to be becoming more expensive in their theatre formats, and less so in other formats like home video, satellite video on demand and in the internet channels.

Speaking to Televisionpoint.com, Tan Ngaronga, chief operating officer, Sathyam Cinemas, said, "We have definite expansion plans in tier-II cities like Madurai and Trichy; and the pricing of our tickets will not be any different in those places."

But as far as i know, SATYAM Cinemas is setting-up a 3-screens multiplex at Tiruppur in TN and Nellore in Andhra..works had already started..

Regarding Madurai, reliable sources are telling that SATYAM will come up in any of the MILAN'em or VISHAAL Mall here..

ETL Infrastructure Services Ltd, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is developing several projects in the south at an estimated cost of Rs 14,262 crore.
"We have plans to execute nearly nine projects in Chennai, Erode, Chengalpet, Madurai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Cochin in Kerala, and Bangalore in Karnataka," says K. Sriram, Head - Finance, ETL.

Sriram said the company had planned to develop Heritage Hotel in Madurai along with a retail mall on 0.3 million sq. ft built-up area.
