Ha ha agree. I wouldn't mind it so much if it didn't nearly ruin the view from Brooklyn. Sticks out too much and from many angles impairs the view of the superior Woolworth Building.

8 Spruce is an utterly stunning landmark. Scores of tourists crossing the Brooklyn Bridge photograph it nonstop and love it.

Thousands of tourists go to the crappy stores at Times Square too. Doesn't make that any less tacky and stupid. And they'd take pictures of Lower Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge regardless of what was there ... 8 Spruce diminishes lower Manhattan by its ugly presence.

Frank Gehry is the worst architect on the planet.

Don't worry, if Larry has his way you'll get an even uglier building a few blocks away that makes 8 Spruce the ESB of lower Manhattan.

Buildings that destroy symmetry always end up looking like outdated and misguided experiments.

It's a powerful illustration of the difference between art and design. One works in context, one doesn't.

I fully agree. I also totally DISLIKE these group of travesties that have replaced the old graceful WTC duo. what a monstrosity these are. Instead of these "after thoughts", a few superthin towns, going up to 150 and 180 floors (so, not too much floor space to overpower the rental market) would have been apt. Instead, we got this rejectionist, uninviting fat smoke stack of a building, topped with a donut and a toothpick--to replace those two graceful (AND TALLER) avantguard WTC buildings. And I thought 1 WTC was bad: just look at these new nondescripts being added to the site, and despair!

I live and work in Manhattan, but avoid going to that place in fear of seeing the two open graves surrounded by ugly blah blahs. Pitty.....

It's a public forum..... People are going to voice their opinion whether it be positive or negative.

And I was talked about 2 WTC, Amecurty.

8 Spruce a pure masterpiece...
I state my opinion
SMILEY1066 pukes his hatred for years without any argument.
Unreasonable to suggest a few sessions with a psychiatrist??..
