Yes, this certainly looks like a piece of quality architecture. It will be a fantastic addition to the area.

It's a winner: what it lacks in height it makes up for in character and form.

Curved glass buildings seem to be the order of the day for Sydney with this stunning design joining the new Westfield tower in the glassy/circular club!

I love it!! My only issue is because of the height to width ratio it can look a bit frumpy, but other than that it is an awesome looking building!!!

^LARGE office floors are way of the future. gone are the useless tiny floor plates. developers want large expanses with interconnection with other floors.
the eliptical shape is quite massive at 46mx 63m. the triangular full height atrium is 20m wide.
some more sketches

Pretty impressive. Love the atrium. It would be a great office tower to work in.

I like it! Should be quite eye catching from street level too. Love the clean German/Bauhaus feel to it.

Awesome!! I think the curves will blend in with Aurora quite nicely.

Blame the low FSR of 12:1. If it were 17:1 (like it is for residential developments in the Sydney CBD) we'd have a much taller tower.

Looks great! It'll be awhile before we see this one though. Have they started demolition of the five buildings on the site?

Love the glass, but exterior design is boring though IMO. Has potential.

this design is so far ahead of other office bldgs in australia it aint funny.
the double skinned facade allows fresh air to flow through bldgs from top to bottom.
note the floor plate i posted- the rear or south/eastern face shows balc/bridge. this is on every level connecting the central atrium.the 8 glass lifts are split with low and high rise service. 4 right lifts are for lowrise and 4 left are for highrise.

peakey- this won design comp last Aug. Sydney gets these bldgs becuase council have design comps for major new highrise. look at last few years
Aurora place-Renzo Piano (italy)
Deutschebank-Norman Foster (UK)
Lumiere-Norman Foster (UK)
1 Bligh -Ingenhoven (germany)
8-12 Chifley sq-RIchard Rogers (UK)
gappa- the site will start demo last quarter of 2007 which should only take a couple of months. the hole is a major one being only 3 basements deep or 9m.
Constructon set to start 1st quarter 2008 with occupancy scheduled for 2010.
