Buildings and Companies

Has a company's headquarters or location ever influenced you to purchase their products? Well, it sure has for me. For example, if I was to buy candy, I would choose a Wringley product over Cadbury Adams/Kraft because their headquarters is in an urban area and is incredible looking. Same with P&G even though the Colgate-Palmolive Company is in NYC, what isn't?

I disagree with you on that one, Cadbury built the town of Bournville, which is truly beautiful.

Yes. It lets me avoid any guilt for going to Starbucks in foreign countries. It encourages me to buy things at Amazon. Some of that is because they're clients as well as local urban headquarters.

No, I live not far from Nike's World Headquarters in Beaverton and I don't own a pair of their shoes. I have owned Adidas but because they were on sale not because their North American Headquarters are in North Portland. Both have nice campuses.

(Worldwide) headquarters in Amsterdam where I buy products from:

-ING & ABN-Amro (banking)
-Ahold (AH - local supermarket)
-Akzo Nobel (paint)
-Heineken (Heineken, Brand, Amstel - beer)
-TNT (mail)
-Hema & Maxeda (lots of stores)
-UPC (internet provider)
-G-star, Tommy Hilfiger (clothing)

Although I don't have the feeling I do it intentional, I buy a lot of things from companies with headquarters in Amsterdam. Sometimes hard to avoid though (beer and the supermarket chain for example).

Where the global HQ is located influences about 90% of my daily purchases.
World's 1st Baseball Game: June 4th, 1838, Beachville, Ontario, Canada
North America's Oldest Pro Football Teams: Toronto Argonauts (1873) and Hamilton Tiger Cats (1869)

I started my first photo thread documenting a recent trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Have a peek: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=724898
