Anyway, this is not syariah court, so no such thing as "unislamic" or workshipping idol. Our legal system came and rooted from English common law, and we even remain and maintain the good old fashion of capital and corporal punishment (smack bottom) when Great Britain already abolish it, and those punishment remain to be effective and admire by many countries (esp Taiwan). Even high court in penang and singapore got lady justice statue. It will be really awesome if we can have some kind of old elegance architecture with tint of neo modern simplicity in detail and in interior designing.... plus some LED lighting in the night. Siok!

First phase of Iskandar Malaysia BRT to be ready by 2021
METRO NEWS
Friday, 19 Jan 2018

by zazali musa

JOHOR BARU: Work on the Iskandar Malaysia Bus Rapid Transit (IMBRT) is expected to start in the first quarter of next year and phase one of the project is slated for completion by mid-2021.

Iskandar Regional Development Authority (Irda) chief executive officer Datuk Ismail Ibrahim said the focus this year would be on development planning, land acquisitions, designs of the stations and public engagements.

He said Irda had organised eight engagement sessions since November to get feedback from the public on the project.

“More sessions will be held this year, including public display on the project, because at the end of the day, the public will be the IMBRT users,” Ismail said after a media briefing on the project’s latest updates at Irda corporate headquarters in Danga Bay.

He added that Irda would also minimise land acquisitions and that most of the land affected by the project were either state-owned or belonged to private companies, not individual owners.

“We are looking at the BRT in Brisbane, Australia, as the city shares similar features with Johor Baru and Iskandar Malaysia in term of distribution of population,” said Ismail.

On the funding for the project, Ismail said the Federal Government had allocated RM1bil while RM1.6bil would come from the private sector.

IMBRT director Rudyanto Azhar said the project covered almost 90% of Iskandar Malaysia with over 300km routes, of which 50km were trunk routes and the remaining were feeder routes.

He said BRT was not something new as it was introduced in 1990.

Globally, 125 cities have implemented BRT, while 121 more are either in the construction or planning stages of the project.

“IMBRT is to cater to the transportation needs of the population in Iskandar Malaysia which is expected to reach three million in 2025, from 1.5 million when Iskandar Malaysia was established in 2006,” said Rudyanto.

Kajian pelaksanaan BRT Iskandar Malaysia bermula

JOHOR BAHRU: Kajian terperinci pelaksanaan dan reka bentuk Sistem Bas Rapid Transit (BRT) Iskandar Malaysia sudah bermula sebagai persediaan bermulanya fasa pertama projek berkenaan membabitkan kos RM2.56 bilion.

Ketua Eksekutif Pihak Berkuasa Wilayah Pembangunan Iskandar (IRDA), Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, berkata sejak November lalu sehingga kini, sebanyak lapan siri pertemuan bersama masyarakat sudah dilakukan.

Beliau berkata, kos pelaksanaan BRT kira-kira RM2.56 bilion dibiayai menerusi Kerajaan Pusat sebanyak RM1 bilion, manakala menerusi kerjasama swasta-awam bernilai RM1.56 bilion

Hopefully this is not another upcoming general election promise....

Expected some of the BRT route will be elevated to minimize land acquisition....base from Ismail statement above.....hmmmmm...i wonder, is the estimated budget RM2.56 billion enough to totally complete this whole project with some elevated route.......

What does 'laluan terus' mean? Can't seem to get my head around it.

something like this?

Albuquerque BRT alignment. Red with green stations denotes exclusive bus lanes.

http://humantransit.org/2017/11/albu...-gold-brt.html

think a 'gold' standard BRT is design so the bus can leave the dedicated busway and into normal roads. like if the dedicated brt lane end near UTM, some bus will just go on to senai, skudai etc. while some bus get out of the busway and go directly into taman tun aminah or something
