Yeah, I agree. We have seen so much boring new architecture, and suddenly, this comes up! Very pleasing to the eye!

First I would like to say very well done Tournesol

And eventhough I'm not to fond of the height-limitations ( big surprise ) that area is going to look amazing!

The location is pefect imo and I'm sure as hell is going to consider moving there... it might be expensive, but so close to malls, city, water, everything is well worth it imo...

Yep. But it could have made a great skyscraper if made taller...

And buildings like these will probably help turn the puplic opinion towards building more taller buildings, and maybe taller taller buildings...!

The local plan for bryggen south looks very nice. To bad there is no tall buildings, but it looks great.

Thank you very much Tournesol for sharing those great pictures!

I must admit I like Plots project just as much as Vandkunstens. Though it might owe something to Turning Torso, they are also very original buildings - unlike a lot of other Turning Torso-imitations. Actually they are a perfect mixture of WM-husene and Turning Torso.

There are really many great projects for Islands Brygge south!!

Thanks for the information tournesol. I like the overall plan and just about every building proposed. As most people seem to think, I too like Vandkunstens building the most followed by PLOT. Hopefully this project will turn out to be a preferred way of constructing new neighborhoods - with some added height of course ;-)

Berlingske did and interview with Klaus Bondam, the new Mayor for building in Copenhagen...Im gonna cut the few importent bids and post em here....

Short translation - He will work to make good on the prmise to build afordeble housing (5000 for 5000), but in order to do so we need to build taller and closer in ordhavnen, refshaleøen and Islands Brygge...

He hopes to get more money for his area, and there is planty to spend it on. Købmagergade is a mess, the parks are badly maintained, and the streets can look like pigsties...Better roads for bikes, and more under ground parking...

He dreams of building that are really great like TT and the Krøyers plads mini rises that was dropped...

Dense and tall! I think you've got yourself the best possible "mayor for building" out there.

Quite impressive. I knew Bondam and Bjerregård would be good together.

I saw something on Lorry about this project for Islands Brygge Syd a few days ago, at least, I think it was Lorry. Something about the new "hip" places to live in the city the next 10-20 and 30 years. Apparently, there's also going to be some sort of lagoon, which looked pretty cool - I guess it's the sandy colours thing you see in the models.

I just find it a bit dubious how Bondam states that in order to find land inexpensive enough to build to 5000 units of affordable housing, they have to build at places like Refshaleøen and Islands Brygge. Won't they be some of the most expensive properties in the city?
