Poor people canno't sleep at the airport? Oh, I am sorry rich people, we are bothering you again.

"Indon", is quite an offensive, derogatory term for Indonesian.

I've asked my Indonesian friends and they seem to be fine with it, they're like "It's just a short form of Indonesian, what's wrong?"

But of course not everyone is the same

More walkalators to be installed

Managing Director Datuk Mohd Badlisham Ghazali said the airport operator planned to fit more walkalators to assist passengers and has to date installed four.

"We have managed to secure the supply of only three due to a shortage.

"Walkalators are not something you can buy off the market...global vendors have also taken orders from other places, and not just this airport," he told reporters here, after the signing of memorandums of understandings (MoU) between the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and 10 vendors under the Bumiputera Vendor Development Programme (VDP).

He said the new walkalators are likely to be installed at the most critical areas for customers, particularly at both the departure and arrival areas.

"This is one of the things we are committed to in enhancing our customer experience, and part and parcel of running an airport.

"It, (walkalator) is a necessary item...and (the cost) borne by us," he said when asked about the investment, adding, MAHB planned to increase the number to 15 at the klia2 next year

obviously poor planning during the design stage...now they have to close few areas part by part just to cater the installation

The complaints againts the lack of walkalators must be significant to warrant such reaction.

From 4 to eventually 19 walkalators in KLIA2.

travelators are a custom jobs and the demand is very high. i guess it'd better to open up, bear the burnt, build the travelators later.

i guess in 3-4 years people won't remember of not having them...

It is interesting to know that travelators are made based on order and demand. I always thought that they are almost the same as escalator.

they are many manufacturers out there...Kone..Fujitec to name a few..and not to mention the china brands...i still blame MAHB for lack of proper planning..even if its custom made..they can still purchase it way ahead ...

the new installation is just another way of saying " oh...we listen to our customers complain..and we address them accordingly." but the actual fact is

Always making excuses for their blunders/mistakes - seems to be the Malaysian corporate culture nowadays !!!

Orang MAHB apa tahu, bos besar turun naik segway dan buggy. Mana nak rasa lelah pax, aircrew, and ground staff berjalan from one end to another. I often find escalators, despite being new, always unservicable. Elevators too.

Just clarify to this statement, Indonesians always use, and prefer to be called as "Indo" as short form. We never use "Indon" as the word tend to has negative meaning.

Sorry for OOT

Sorry for OOT
and in Malaysia..we just refer Indon for - orang Indonesia . no other meaning or negative meaning.
in Singapore and Brunei they also used 'Indon' but wonder why Indonesians are not angry at them .
