#UNDER C: LAKESIDE, 22F Res (4 towers) (IMPZ)

Damac launches residential project in Dubai

Dubai: Damac Properties yesterday launched its latest residential development in Dubai's International Media Production Zone (IMPZ).

The four-building Lakeside project includes 420 units in each tower, with a heavy emphasis on studio apartments. Each floor will be split into 22 studios and four one-bedroom apartments. Prices for studios are Dh319,000 while a one-bedroom-apartment will start at Dh638,000.

"We are always looking to see specifically what our customers demand and this is what came out of the research," Peter Riddoch, Chief Executive at Damac Properties, said.

"This will be a prime area. It sits just off Emirates Road and is part of IMPZ, so there will be some 70,000 people working there, all of whom will have to be housed. The demand for well-put-together, compact apartments, with a good view, is what came out of our research as very strong."

Pre-registration will be open from March 5 to 7 and the booking of the apartments will be open on March 8.

Riddoch denied that Damac's recent promotions, which have seen everything from Jaguars to a private jet given away, have been motivated by a softening market.

"The market continues to be very strong. Competition is healthy, but our sales are growing on year on year, he said.

Damac has launched 52 buildings launched to date, with a total value at more than Dh15 billion.

Intermass wins Damac contract

on Sunday, July 27, 2008

Dubai-based Damac Properties has awarded a Dh805-million contract to Intermass Engineering and Contracting Co. for its Lakeside project at the International Media Production Zone (IMPZ).

The project will be completed by December 2010. The Lakeside project is Damac's third project in Dubai's IMPZ development – the previous two being the Crescent and Lago Vista.

All three projects are being built by Intermass.

"Intermass is one of the leaders in the engineering and construction industry in the UAE today and their appointment as main contractors is due to our faith in the quality of their work and our past experience with them. We have no doubt that they will deliver a product that offers state-of-the-art luxury and comfort to the residents at Lakeside," said Peter Riddoch, CEO of Damac Properties.

Situated on the Emirates Road, the IMPZ is in close proximity to the Jebel Ali Port and the Jebel Ali Airport City, a unique free zone incorporating a vast array of residential, industrial, commercial and community service projects.

"We are delighted to commence construction of yet another masterpiece for the discerning community in the Middle East and worldwide. A beautiful residential project, Lakeside, at the IMPZ is a strategic development offering state-of-the-art facilities in an eco-friendly environment," said Riddoch.

Lakeside is designed by renowned consultants AR Konsult. A complex of two 21-storey and two 22-storey towers, Lakeside will have studio and one-bedroom apartments with modern accessories, thoughtfully planned spaces and utilities and elegantly designed interiors, said the developers.

The Number

Dh805m: project will comprise two 21-storey and two 22-storey towers at the IMPZ

Hi,

As per some info I got from DAMAC on December, the tender is out and they are planning to select the company for the construction part during the first quarter of this year, later on, works will start and after 36 months they're expecting the completion of the buildings. So, expected handover date, middle of 2013

The project is not cancelled, just delayed...
