Bayou Place: Phase II - Developer Daivd Corsdish has decided to put 50,000 square feet of Class A office space atop a paking garage of the same size in the remaining vacant portion of the old Albert Thomas Convention Center, which has undergone transformation into Bayou Place. In addition, Cordish will provide tenants with another 200 spaces in the nearby underground garage. Located in the heart of the Theater District, Bayou Place II also has access to the underground tunnel system that holds a myriad of restaurants and retail shops beneath downtown Houston. Cordish mention, " I'd be very surprised if Phase II doesn't lead to something else. I'm very high on Houston."

Renovation work at Bayou Place II will begin within 45 days, and complete in 2006.

In other news...

The Bank of River Oaks - A new bank with a familiar name is on track to open this summer 2005 in the city's most affluent enclave.
The Bank of River Oaks will court well-to-do businesses and well-heeled customers from a high-traffic perch on Kirby Drive.

Interfin heads to suburbs for piece of HP land marathon - President of Interfin, Giorfio Borlenghi stated, "My vision to create a retail enviroment that becomes a destination - the center of gravity for the northwest area of Houston much like what Uptown Park is to the Galleria/Uptown Houston district."

A master plan calls for development of a 650,000 square foot lifestyle center on east corner of Louetta Road and State Highway 249. "Vintage Park," which will be an open air shopping center will include retail, entertainment and dining.

Meanwhile, a bigger picture, V&W Partners is outlining a master-planned community of nearby 640 acres that will include homes, a hotel, lofts, apartments, office buildings, banks, a medical/pharmaceutical campus, retirement housing and more than 100 acres of lakes.

Texas Southern University gets new parking garages - Each of the 340,000 square foot garages will accommodate 1,000 cars. The first garage is scheduled for completion in December; the second in March 2006. One is located on Cleburne Avenue and Sampson Street; other one on Ennis and Blodgett streets.
