Hmm, I'm not sure to be honest. Even though it's called VTP200, it's a bit of a cop-out considering that huge spire on the top looks like it adds about 80m. The actual observation point is at 117m high. So surely wouldn't your V-Tower have a higher observation point or top floor than this?

However, I think the base looks very cool. I'm not entirely sure about the scaffolding up the side of the tower - but nonetheless, it should make a good impact on the Brum skyline.

I'll give it a 7.

EDIT: OK, I've now read that part of it rotates to upto 190m high, so actually that's very impressive

According to the website that thing halfway up the spire is a viewing platform which slowly raises up to the very top of the spire.

Some of those rides would scare me to death - especially that see-saw one! I think I'd just stick to the observation gyro thingy!

I've given it 9 - it could be more architecturally pleasing, and 50m taller, but I think it is stunning, will do amazingly well in terms of tourism, and look great on the skyline

Innovative and exciting but not exactly elegant. Looks like something from thunderbirds

It's erm, strange, but different i guess, worth a try though! 7 from me!

You need to give it a nickname!

It's like the smaller version of Seattle's Space Needle, with Liverpool's Radio City Tower, with an adustable beacon thrown on top!

Watching the video in big screen with clear imaging my oppinion is ... rool: Its just out of this world. The design was never going to be shard like. Its a theme park with a twist. Its beautiful and will become an icon.

******* love it.

I gave it an "8". It's certainly a radical design, and will give the City a huge boost in terms of tourism & entertainment. But somehow the design looks a little bit "stumpy" to my eyes, like an oil rig beached on dry land.

Perhaps if the render had the obs tower somewhere near the top of the spire it would have possibly made it look more slender.

But overall, Im in favour

Again stumpy? the top viewing platform is taller then HCT. its thinner then HCT. The spire make it look stumpy but its far from it. It has a 78m pole coming out of its head. A pole just shorter then the Rotunda and no wider then 5m in diameter.

Its perfectly proportionate.

I can see what he means, but if the viewing platform were higher the support would have to be chunkier, and it may appear top-heavy.

Maybe they could thicken the mast above to make it balance out more?

But if they thickened the mast it would take longer for the gryo to rotate meaning it would have to go quicker and people would rush and lose specific views. RTKL would've done alot of work with this. They've been involved in some pretty major projects and know what they are doing. Its going to look very special and many will be in awe including Londoners.

After seeing this picture

I love it. The spire goes right through and all the rest is hung from it (sort of) I love it, 9.
