I was pretty excited to have gone inside the ICC for the first time today.

These views from the building have not been seen by me before, many thanks.

How good does darling harbour look? So impressed with how it’s turning out
With IMAX and cockle bay tower complex and Harbourside it will look mint and not to forget new darling exchange at southern end of new esplanade
It will be one of the great walks from there to north towards new harbourside

Does anyone know what's happening to the new water feature outside the new exhibition centre? Looks like a construction site again!

I haven't seen it without a fence surrounding it since it opened.

I never realised how bloody ugly the colours on the hotel were until I saw this picture. Not a bad building proportionally, and the glass is sleek, but the browns, mustards and rusts look like dreck.... short-sighted choice.

Sorry to disagree with you - I actually really like those colours. Plus this picture shows me again what a fine building the Maritime Museum is!

The colours reflect it's surroundings, with the browns and oranges a reflection of the Oaks Goldsbrough behind it, fading to sky blue as the tower gets higher.

Up goes my hand; I think it is clever and unexpected as well as what mandonov said about reflecting the varied character of its surroundings.

I was initially in two minds about the colours but it is growing on me, and I fully agree about the building's fine proportions.

I keep waiting to start liking the Sofitel but it's just such a butt ugly tower. Looks fabulous at night but I really struggle to find redeeming features in daylight.
