What a sad situation!!

You would think a developer would jump at such a site in a good area, masses of commuters and locals around here would easily sustain any development. Reminds me of Edgbaston Mill, pearl of a site but no one seems interested

News to me. Can sites be earmarked in advance of planning consent?

Lucas site still has issues due to ground poisoning. Loads of electroplating in the 70's and 80's with little or no consideration to sloshing chemicals about..

Looks like Mere Green/Mulberry Walk development won't be happening any time soon:

http://suttoncoldfieldlocal.co.uk/me...tion-13901142/

Tuesday, February 17th, 2015

We have just received word from Sutton Coldfield’s District Chair, Councillor Anne Underwood, that the developer associated with the regeneration of Mere Green has pulled out.

This is certainly bad news for the people of Mere Green who were first promised a regeneration of the three-acre site in 2006.

The temporary Boots is now in place at Mere Green. Presumably demolition is likely to start fairly soon then.

Mulberry Walk
I found the demolition document and it was approved today and should start next week!
10 weeks they estimate for complete demoltion and 1 year for the build.

Where's the temporary Boots? I go past this place everyday and I don't see it? I thought it was going on the patch of green opposite House of Sun and The Old Speckled Hen.
