MADINAT JUMEIRAH Al Qasr!!!

this hotel is da bomb!!! the whole resort is unbelievably beautiful. the only thing you can complain about is restaurant service, but it's new and staff still has to be trained a lot!!!

i can highly recommend you to go out for dinner, take your camera and take pics. the view over the wind towers to burj al arab is amazing!!

will post all pics when i'm home in germany. have to put them in order first!!

check tomorrow at 2pm!

I went to Al Qasr for 3 days this week for dinner, lunch and breakfast. But I didn't take any pics because I was relying on you to take some

I agree, restaurant service is terrible and the food is even worse. I took a tour of the rooms.. it's great.

One thing most new Dubai projects lack is guiding signs. My family and I got lost for an hour and a half while trying to get out of Arboretum, and the people working there kept giving us wrong directions. We went in circles.

It's made up of a lot of parts, so that's why it's huge.

The architecture is very interesting. Some of the windtowers look really fake because those rods in them are just too thick. Overall, that makes it look like a cardboard house. Mostly the souk is like that. I don't know which building looked like an old castle with the bricks used. Was that Dar al-Masyaf?

The best of the lot is al-Qasr. The windtowers are more realistic-looking and they have a strange mix of local, Moroccan and Asian designs. Some parts are even European-looking.

Honestly, I don't think the place looks really nice during the day. Looking at the water and the interlock and railing surrounding it with those fake windtowers in the background in full daylight makes me feel like I'm in a mock mini city like the ones in Mushrif Park, and the railing reminds me of Creekside Park. Only at night with a view of al-Qasr does the place look classy and big. The interior is amazing in all the resort, but the rooms aren't that remarkable. The royal suite costs 26,000 AED per night. It's not worth it.

Dubai-Lover - Nice pics, but why have you focused on the Burj al-Arab so much? Those purple lights on it is just so Abu-Dhabi taste. That's cuz it's now owned by Abu Dhabi.

i focused on burj a lot, as the view at night over the wind towers to burj al arab is one of the most amazing views i've ever seen!!!!!
and i've seen quite a lot in my young life (20 years):

european metroplis: london, paris, prague, florence,....
10 times usa by now incl nyc, la, miami, alaska, hawaii, grand canyon, washington dc, boston, philly,... and dozens of national parks in the us!

bahamas once

canada: toronto, vancouver and also dozens of national parks (banff, jasper,...)

dubai 7 times by now!

even ireland: ring of kerry, limerick, cork, shannon,....

and next summer usa again (northwest, yellowstone,....)

thanks to my father for making this possible to me!!!!

NOT JOKING!!!

of course there still is so much to discover! i've never been farer east than dubai! it's a shame

but burj al arab definitely is one of my favorite views i've collected over the years and i will bear it in mind for my whole life!!!
