Protest in Kalaburagi seeking rly. division office

The Gulbarga Railway Divisional Action Committee and pro-Kannada organisations staged a protest outside the main railway station here on Wednesday urging the Union government to fulfil the long-pending demand of Hyderabad Karnataka region for the establishment of a railway divisional headquarters in Kalaburagi.

In a memorandum addressed to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, action committee president Arun Kumar Patil expressed displeasure and said that even after three years of approval, the Union government had not yet prepared Detailed Project Report (DPR), which is estimated at Rs. 90 crore submitted by Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL).

Although the then United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre conceded the long-pending demand of establishing a railway division and included it in the supplementary Railway Budget presented by then Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge in 2014, the National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre has done little to make it a reality, he added.
Mr. Patil urged for establishing the railway divisional headquarters soon.

The tracks, bridges and platforms are ready at Srirangapatna but where is CRS? Electrification is more or less over, why cant they complete it and simultaneously inaugurate the completion of both?
Our Railway Minister should take the officials to task for the way they are going about it.

State government should facilitate early completion of the sub station at Yeliyur to power electric traction between Mandya and Mysuru.

Hi All

During my recent travel between Yeshwantpur and Hosur, I remember having seen a railway line on the LEFT SIDE between Hebbal and Banaswadi.

Does any railway line exist in that area in use or not (other than the YPR - YNK line just after LG Halli)?
