thanks for the pics.

does anyone know what's on the 90th floor and why they put the observatory on the 89th floor and not 90th, making people climb 2 floors to get to the rooftop?

Move to draw more Malaysians to Taiwan
Monday October 22, 2007

Good start: Malaysia Tourism promotion board director-general Datuk Mirza
Mohammad Taiyab (right) shaking hands with Lai while Taiwan Visitors
Association chairman Shuo-Lao Chang, Tseng and Taiwan Visitors
Association Kuala Lumpur Office director Chang Fu-Nan look on.

THE growing popularity of dramas featuring props and scenes, creatively packaged travel products and aggressive promotions are attracting a steady stream of tourists to Taiwan.

In view of that, the Taiwan Visitors Association has opened its Kuala Lumpur office to help Malaysians plan their visits to the island.

The opening was celebrated with a cocktail party recently at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia representative Victor Tseng said Malaysian travellers to Taiwan and vice versa had seen a steady 10% growth every year.

He said the 2006 statistics showed that Malaysia received about 160,000 tourist arrivals from Taiwan while the island received 110,000 tourist arrivals from Malaysia.

“Taiwan has become a favourite destination for Malaysian tourists, who come with their families to enjoy the island's night market, local snacks, Chinese cuisine, hot springs, theme parks and leisure farms,” he said.

“At the same time, Taiwan has also introduced a series of new travel products including wedding photo tours, romantic honeymoons, travel on the high-speed railway, travel on the Taiwan tour bus system, fashion tours and concerts.

“All of these products ensure that Malaysian visitors will have a new experience every time they visit Taiwan, and they will always have a reason to return,” he added.

Taiwan Tourism Bureau director-general Janice Seh-Jen Lai said the setting up of the office would further strengthen the bilateral ties between Taiwan and Malaysia and at the same time promote cultural exchange.

“The office provides more up-to-date information on tourism for the convenience of Malaysian tourists,'' she said.

The office is located at Suite 25-01, 25th floor, Wisma Goldhill, 67, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur.

At Danshui Station there were even adverts getting Taiwanese to visit Genting Highlands in Malaysia...

Didn't expect to see such adverts there, so far away.

There're pretty common here in Singapore.
