The elevated part would be continuous right or would it be in parts? I mean the elevation would be from Qaddafi Stadium or whatever to Data Darbar if so would it be some sort of record or not?

You forgot question mark on flyover infornt of Arfa Kareem Tower.

The ONLY project in Pakistan that's worth anything is the Karakoram Highway. Seriously, step outside of your house and learn something about the world. Highways like that were being built almost a century ago and better public transport systems have been around SINCE THE 1800's. What kind of drugs are you on?

He called it world famous along with the Motorway. There's not a single project in the whole of Pakistan that's even regionally-famous or even worthy of it.

BRT looks good, but in blazing summer heat people sweat a lot. In an A/C bus the smell/air circulates and it start to stink with arm pit fumes, just like in Daewoo city bus. I hope they install air fresheners in BRT buses or just open the windows when its crowded.

The BRT and its elevated portion might be a huge thing Pakistan-wise but its not a big deal region-wise, continent-wise or even internationally. That was the whole point.

Forget Asia for a minute, even in South Asia its not a big deal. A BRT system already exists in Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Goa, Mumbai and Indore. And it is planned and U/C in many other cities. And the system also exists in 4/5 cities in Iran.

We currently stand at 1 BRT system U/C in Lahore, 1 maybe planned for the ISB/RWP region and nothing for Karachi atm.

We don't even have a metro system. Which is a bigger deal than a BRT system. India already has four metro systems in Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi and Bangalore. With metro systems U/C in Mumbai, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Chennai, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kochi. On top of that there are also monorail systems U/C and planned across the country. Iran has the metro system present in Tehran and Mashhad and it is U/C in 5 other cities.

Though keeping in the mind the electricity shortages in Pakistan I don't know how a metro, monorail or light rail system will work in this country.

And the Karakorum highway was mentioned as creating a road through such a rough terrain is indeed a remarkable achievement. Its the highest paved international road in the world FFS! Doesn't matter of it has millions of flaws or if the road can't be termed a highway in the literal sense or the fact that the road has to be cleard every now and then due to rocks crumbling from the mountains above.

That said, I am happy that finally a rapid transit system is talking shape in Pakistan. Go BRT Lahore!

A little correction here. There was a plan for a $600 mil usd BRTS in Karachi by the local govt of the time which was put on hold by demoCRAZY. Feasibility, etc were completed in 2006 or so. This was even before there were any plans for one in Lahore. Funds were withheld and project put on hold indefinitely in 2009.
