Twin Towers / Xindian/ Yulon Group & High Tech Computer Corp
Taipei, March 5, 2008 (CENS)--Yulon Group, the largest automobile manufacturing conglomerate in Taiwan, and High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC), one of the world`s fastest-growing companies in the mobile device market, recently signed an agreement to jointly build a twin-tower corporate headquarters at Yulon`s old plant campus in Hsindian, Taipei County, northern Taiwan.
In the joint land development project, Yulon sold a NT$3.34 billion (US$104.22 million at US$1: NT$32) worth of land space to HTC, generating land-disposal profits of NT$3.28 billion (US$102.59 million), or earnings per share (EPS) of NT$2 (US$0.06), which will be enlisted into Yulon`s financial accounts in three years.
According to Chen Kuo-rong, Yulon`s president, the two conglomerates` headquarters are expected to bring 8,000 employees to the region, which will fuel lucrative business opportunities for shopping malls, real estates, recreational/sporting activities.
At the 30,000-ping (1 ping equals 36 square feet or 3.3 square meters) land area, Yulon will keep a space of 4,209 pings for constructing a twin-tower headquarters building. After completing the construction in 2010, Yulon will use 10,000 pings of total floor area, and HTC 15,000 pings.
Industry sources said that Yulon and HTC have set up many cooperation ties in the automotive-electronics field. HTC is also a major shareholder in Hua-chuang Automobile Information Technical Center Co. Ltd. (HAITEC), a Yulon affiliate devoted to the development of own-brand automobile products.
