Hi,
it was stated in this thread that the EO58 ran from EO8 to the Elefsina airfield, but where is the main entrance? I have published a relevant statement on OSM at http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/Amaroussi/diary/19238 regarding this attempt to clear up the highway system, but I feel that there are already holes as there is no way to effectively make the Attiki EP3 (Kifisa to Elefsina via Aspropyrgos) cross the A1 at the junction with Ilision near Dekelia, without making dreadful detours. - I know that the spur to the former Olympic village must be an EO of some kind, is that right?

![]() EO58: It is Leoforos Gelas. EP3: The main problem is that these roads were numbered back in 1956 and they have not updated yet. For example EP9 refers to part of… Attiki Odos (A6) which back then was just a distant proposal. As far as EP3 the route (Ilision Road) has been interrupted just a few years ago; there was a set of traffic lights there until about 2000. The spur to the Olympic Village is still unclassified as far I am concerned, but it may become a national road when Kymis Avenue (an unnumbered national road) extends from the A6 to the A1 as planned. Once again, I appreciate too much your huge effort. I do not think that in Greece there are more than… 10 people who care for road numbers (you are a bit lucky, you have found one of them).

I don't know if there is any chance to see the whole (*) of "new" NR90 to be converted to A90 anytime before 2020.
(*) Or even the section Kastelli Kissamou - Agios Nikolaos.

Was Iera Odos in Athens ever part of the EO8, I was considering assigning it as part of PEO8 (Historic National Road 8)

![]() Yes, you're right. It was the original route of EO8, before Athinon Avenue was constructed.

According to this site http://rodopinews.gr/36501 the road between Komotini-Makaza-Nimfea should have been ready by March... Not sure though what's happening.

Thank you for your answers!
I understood from this forum that on the Greek side now the works are at the last kilometer of asphalt. Maybe somebody from that area knows the sittuation at the site

I have read on another forum that:
"Latest Official info : 1. The company that went backrupt was given money from the state to finish the road. 2. It will be opened in 1-2 weeks around middle of June 2013" Someone can confirm this? |

Attiki, Argolis and Corintia have numbered provincial roads on OSM, can you please check if they are going the right ways?
Also, In Corinthia, EP 5, 6, 8 and 13 seem to duplicate other roads, while I don't know where EP28, 38, 41 and 43 are. Last edited by Antje; June 9th, 2013 at 07:03 PM. |

Hi Antje.
You are OK. However, all road numbers should stop on the county’s boundaries; you have some numbers continuing into neighbororing counties (the word «προς» on the lists means ‘towards’, so these roads do not reach these destinations but stop in the boundaries). Corinthia: 5: Μπίζι corresponds to Κυλλήνη/Kyllini (yellow road from ΕΠ2 to the west of Καλιανοί/Kalianoi). 6: Μπάσι corresponds to Δροσοπηγή/Drosopigi (yellow road starting immediately after the southwest edge of the Stymfalia Natural Reserve from ΕΠ2). 8: There should be a road connecting Μοσιά/Mosia (ΕΠ2) with Μάτι/Mati and then the county’s boundaries. The atlas of Greek Statistics (1975) shows a provincial road there, which is not indicated on Openstreet. 13: Yes, its route coincides with sections of other routes. It starts along ΕΠ12 (Ξυλόκαστρο/Xylokastro – Ζεμενό/Zemeno), then follows a small common part with ΕΠ10 and afterwards continues up to ΕΠ2 as indicated on the map (‘independent’ section), and then goes all the way to Φενεός/Feneos along ΕΠ2. 28: Αρχαία Κόρινθος/Ancient Korinthos (ΕΠ22) – yellow road crossing without connection EO8a – Άσσος/Assos – Ζευγολατιό/Zevgolatio – Βοχαϊκό/Vohaïko (yellow road) and then to Κρήνες/Krines as indicated. 38: It has been replaced by EO10, which was added later than 1955/1963. 41: I am not sure but according to the above mentioned atlas, there should be a road (not indicated on Openstreet) which should run from Σικυώνα/Sikyona to the southwest towards Παραδείσι/Paradeisi (ΕΠ14) and then following ΕΠ14 and ΕΠ9 to reach Νεμέα/Nemea. Sorry for the Greek writing but I follow Openmap which has these places in Greek. Again regards for your huge effort.

I know that a lot of EOs and EPs are having their sharp turns fixed for safety reasons. Some of the roads literally had drivers doing U-turns.
Anyway, having trouble double checking Attica's Provincial roads 6, 35 and 36 - I can't find "Vasilikon Ktima". Is this some kind of Royal estate that was once popular north of Varymbopi? |

ΕΠ6: ΕΟ1 (End of Patision) - Agias Lavras - Irakleiou - G. Lampraki - S. Venizelou (you have put this section as part of EO1; doubtful) - Tositsa - Lyra - along with ΕΠ3 - Tatoïou.
EΠ35/ΕΠ36: Yes, you are right about the (former) Royal Estate. It is the one near Varympompi.
