As i swear iirc that Belmont Park that the Golden Group had had no height limits at all? Or was the limit like higher of that of Perth but still like restricted to 400m?
A commercial ferry terminal would not work there as its too shallow unless it was pontooned a fair way out into the river channel itself. That would look a bit ridiculous.Better from the Claisebrook side. Possibly if they dredged into the other side of the race course from the stadium they might stand a small chance.
Height limits do apply to the Peninsula as southern end is on active runway approach.Northern end might be about 200 meters which is maximum residential level of about 50 stories. Highest in Perth is 250 meters Central Park

Looks almost certain the stadium will finish mid to 2/3 into next year with only a small amount of steel work to go up then only about half the roof trusses..They are going pretty fast considering its winter..

It's not a snake looks like an Emu curled up and a Gecko. My guess they would be associated with the other poles and logs two pictures up.

Also in that pic are those tripod installations and the and the things which look like giant street lanterns which are wrapped in blue. They look like they may have some practical use like signage any ideas

Good to see that they have started installing the roof fabric. Seems a bit of a funny colour though. I would've thought it'd be white

Practically speaking, they ought to burn quite nicely once some idiot sets fire to them.

It's the prettiest option, great for those TV shots, but all I see now is disconnection.

A single bridge to the wrong place.
No ferries.

Crown will be an attractive pre and post game zone, but I'm not sure that's a good thing for gambling rates.

A drink before or after the game means a long trek if you don't want to patronise an on site venue with high prices, even to and from Crown.

On the positive side, if they can get the carnival atmosphere right on game days, without robbing the public blind, it should be a nice family oriented, game day experience, encouraging recreational use of the surrounding river foreshores.
