Quote:
MANILA, Philippines - The government has successfully rolled out its integrated business registry system (IBRS), approving 84.2 percent of applications within one day. This is in contrast to the previous system which takes about 34 days to register a business.

The IBRS is a web-based system that facilitates business registration-related transactions. It serves as a one-stop shop for entrepreneurs who need to transact with several agencies to be able to start operating a business.

Govt. aims to slash poverty rate by 20%

Quote:
Through an accelerated antipoverty drive, the government aims to bring down the poverty incidence in the country by 18 to 20 percent by 2016.

Government agencies concerned set the wheels in motion when they recently launched the Accelerated and Sustainable Anti-Poverty Program (Asapp) which aims to significantly reduce the number of the country’s poor.

The government aims to achieve this by creating employment opportunities in cities and municipalities with the potential to grow economically but which are constrained by having a population with limited skills, limited expansion opportunities for businesses and huge in-migration. This will include self-employment for the poor.

ANALYSIS
Aquino short on social compassion
Philippine Daily Inquirer
12:48 AM January 18th, 2016

CANBERRA—In its twilight, the Aquino administration is battered by the tempestuous backlash over social policy—his veto of a legislation seeking to increase the pensions of 2.15 million members of the state-run Social Security System (SSS), which handles the pension fund of workers in the private sector.

The storm came as President Aquino, a scion of the country’s largest landed estate (the 4,000-hectare plus Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac province), prepares to step down from six-years in power after the national elections in May.

Happy to report that the Bureau of Customs is undergoing some serious modernization. It'll be the most advanced government agency in the country once the programs have been installed.

The money to increase SSS will have to come from somewhere. Either increase is taxes or contributions. If the people complaining want increases SSSS benefits, they have to agree to increase tax or their contributions.

Otherwise, matuto sila magipon ng pera laya may fund sila pagretiro na sila
