Maybe it could fund that yacht race you have such a boner for.

How do you get involved with stopping something like this without standing in front of a bulldozer, does anyone know?
Work has already started on clearing the site and with hoardings going up, seems like it's already been given consent to go ahead and presumably demolition orders as well.

A while ago someone found this, about the Yates Buildings site at the bottom of Albert Street:

Quote:
65 Level 5 Star Luxury Hotel, Retail and Office Tower. Designed to address substantial gap in Premium Hotel, Retail and Office Space. Designs and Consents in place.
Source (via Wayback machine)

As you can see, the page is not live anymore. Instead, the ABBA Group website now mentions on their project page that it has acted in a $550M deal concerning a 5-star hotel in the South Pacific (that's about the same amount mentioned in the archived page when converted from USD to Aussie dollars). Anyone heard about any big deals recently??

Yeee been around for a while, sales have been on for past few months. This looks like an updated render.

Shame that Orakei Bay is a sh*thole....

The student accomodation was almost completely demolished when I went past like night, the two neighbouring buildings are empty and demolition has started at the rear. The creche in behind is also gone. The one building to remain is the former petrol station and the large empty lot on the corner.

Plans for a bland 29-storey hotel near SkyCity created to hook buyer in

Hopefully the developer will spruce the design up

Park Road, opposite the hospital. Drosophila's photos show the back of these buildings that are up next for demolition:

200 apartments in a 10 level building on Cook St. This must be at least 3 or 4 buildings or something.

Or just a massively wide ugly box like Zest? Hopefully not.

This is a multi-storey residential complex, as featured on MC2 Architects' website:

Now, isn't that a perfect fit with this Sel Peacock Drive site that went for auction this September? If I interpreted Council's GIS viewer correctly, the northern side - the 6-storey building end - is in the THAB zone, and the rest of the site is in the Metropolitan zone, which allows for the taller building. And the slope matches. Wonder what will become of what is presumably a concept for future development (there are still active leases).

Today I stumbled upon two projects I hadn't noticed before on the Moller Architects site: New North Road apartments, and Newmarket apartments. It seems they're located at 96 New North Road, Eden Terrace and the corner of Mahuru and Nuffield in Newmarket. They're dated 2015 and 2009 respectively, but dates haves been published wrongly before (one project mentioned on here was dated about a decade back when it was actually a new project). So does anyone know what's up with these - are they old schemes or new?

Can't answer whether they are legitimate or not, but something of that size and scale would be great for Newmarket
