I guess Gdansk is even more pretty than Amsterdam

No, i am not. Just imagine rows and rows of Commie Blocks instead of this. This town tried to reclaim back, brick by brick, everything that was taken from them by force. I can only say bravo to that attempt, despite minor "maybe it could be better" building. Those are irrelevant, in "the" one rightful path to future of meaning.

Amsterdam looks dull and greyish, it always depresses me. I like colourful Gdansk more.

But nothing wrong with Amsterdam & it's pretty characteristic canals and centuries old buildings. It has its charms.

I might change my mind when I v visited Gdansk too.

I think that we must be grateful to polish people. They did a wonderful job in Gdansk, Wroclaw, Warsaw....

Sometimes I think to myself: how do you find strenght to rebuild things after your whole world has been completely torn down, sometimes to the bare ground? How come the people those 60-70 years ago had the strenght not only to build anew (and they could build just new modern blocks) but to reconstruct things so masterfully and painstaikingly?

Just big big respect to all those who did this, especially in countries that were completely destroyed by the war, especially Poland and Germany.
