The compression rings at the top are approaching the south stand from two directions to complete the full circle.

Question.
How can they be sure they will need exactly whole number of them? Given the many issues they had with dimensions, could it be that they get to the last gap on top of the south stand only to realise they only need a fraction of the whole ring?

I suppose it could happen but its unlikely. The old method would be to hold off making the last bit until they can measure the gap. But these days things are pretty accurate.

Now. With angles on the other hand its all down to if there's been a **** up in the calcs. Watch what happens to that end plate on the south stand.

I think this is a high quality project and can't imagine any mishaps. I'm sure all your ring pieces, making up the whole ring will be correct to the millimetre.

It might be correct to the mm. But then at a couple of degrees warmer it might not. Theres been a number of things fitted then removed again. One of the downfalls of bespoke. Every item is open to error usually of the human kind.

Regarding the interest this thread has raised:

I am a generally football / ice hockey / stadium interested guy from Germany following various projects on SSC. This may be by far the most popular project not only because it is simply fascinating, being built partly on the site of the old ground (and fast), in the middle of a city, with some interesting features ... but also because it seems to me that it is extremely well documented, both by official webcams etc. and, particularly, by all the individual contributors - thanks a lot to them! And I must say I am really impressed by your number and dedication, which - for me - indicates that Spurs is indeed a really big club, with a massive, maybe underestimated following. Congrats!

Regarding those "backplates" on the south stand:

What exactly makes those massive things necessary? Is it to do with the roof?

That back plate will delay things now if it isn't fitting. Was watching it being installed last night and it looked like it was to long.

They do help transition from the Rakers to the roof but they also provide support for the edges of the top tier sections of concrete. With the heavy fixings I guess they also provide the equivalent of a ring beam to spread the weight load evenly across the back of the stand. Looks like there gonna block any viewing potential from inside though😕

If anybody roughly knows, how long would it typically take to re manufacture a bespoke piece like this?

Hopefully it's something simple, it just looked like that to me last night.
There is another plate on the ground and one on the lorry so hopefully it's on of them and they lifted the wrong plate
