CEBU | Insular Life Cebu Business Centre [12F|com]

updated rendering from http://www.primary.com.ph/projects/
Insular Life Cebu Corporate Centre

Insular Life breaks ground for new corporate center in Cebu

Insular Life Chairman of the Board and CEO Vicente R. Ayllón (4th from right) led in lowering and sealing the commemorative time capsule. With him were (from left) Insular Life President and COO Mayo Jose B. Ongsingco, Cebu 1st district representative Raul V. del Mar, Insurance Commissioner Eduardo T. Malinis, Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael L. Rama, and Architect Jose T. Mañosa.

The Insular Life Assurance Co., Ltd. marked a new milestone with the recent groundbreaking of the Insular Life Cebu Business Centre.

Located at the thriving Cebu Business Park, the Insular Life Cebu Business Centre is a 12-storey corporate hub designed by top architectural firm, J.T. Mañosa & Associates.

In his welcome message during the groundbreaking ceremony, Insular Life Chairman of the Board and CEO Vicente R. Ayllón remarked that the building “represents (the Company’s) vote of confidence in the progress of the Philippine economy, and more importantly, our faith in the Filipino’s wealth of talents.” Present during the groundbreaking ceremonies were Insurance Commissioner Eduardo T. Malinis, Monsignor Achilles D. Dakay of the Archdiocese of Cebu, Cebu 1st District Representative Raul V. Del Mar, and Cebu Vice Mayor Michael L. Rama.

The Insular Life Cebu Business Centre will have a gross area of 19,500 sq. m. with an efficiency of 86% net space. A unique feature of the building is the minimal use of interior columns to maximize the use of space and allow flexibility for the needs of end users.

The building, likewise, will promote green architecture with its terraced greenery, landscaped gardens and water features. The terraced gardens, aside from contributing to the greening of the exterior of the building, will house the air condition condensing units on every third floor. Floor-to-floor height is estimated at 3.86 meters to maximize natural light and contribute to energy consumption. Meanwhile, the entire roof deck will feature two gardens and a restaurant, where visitors will be treated to an excellent view of the Cebu cityscape.

With an estimated 230 persons per floor, the building will have six elevators, one for the exclusive use of executives and another for service and freight. It will house two basement levels that will offer 160 parking spaces, a drivers’ lounge, sanitary rooms, a storage area, utility equipment, fire/ water pumps and an emergency power generator.

The Insular Life Cebu Business Centre is slated to be inaugurated in 2010, in time for Insular Life’s 100th anniversary celebration.

you're welcome bai slimer... yeah, naa ghapoy connection, as they say, don't burn bridges... btw, regarding the design, im really inclined to the speculation that it will look similar to their alabang bldgs. that has been IL's practice man gud, they have this batching of bldg designs. for example, IL cebu's current bldg has the same design as the one in gen san and cdo kay halos dungan ang pagtukod aning mga buildinga

PSE display board now up in Makati
By Honey Madrilejos-Reyes / Reporter
Business Mirror Online
May 8, 2008

THE first-ever giant electronic display board, carrying real-time stock market information and positive news around the country, was formally unveiled Wednesday by a group led by the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

Mounted on the façade of the Insular Life Building at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas in Makati City, the P45-million project measures 30 meters in length and 1.5 meters in height.

“Apart from having our own version of New York City’s Times Square, the electronic display system will help bring the stock market closer to commuters and ordinary people so that they can continue to monitor the stock market even when they are outdoors,” said PSE president Francis Lim.

Globaltronics handled the installation of the board, while Globe Telecom is its initial sponsor for advertisements and will also shoulder the operational expenses, such as the electricity cost. Once the board is opened up for placement of ads, the parties will share in the revenues.

Meanwhile, Insular Life chairman Vicente Ayllon said they plan to offer the company’s soon-to-be constructed building in Cebu City as host to another electronic display board system.

PSE, for its part, welcomes the offer.

“We are really looking at other strategic areas not only in Metro Manila because we want to create more awareness and convert that awareness to active stock market trading,” said Lim.

Based on a study conducted by the group, one million pedestrians and cars traverse Ayala Avenue everyday, making the location of the electronic board even more viable.

The board will run the PSE ticker tape, disclosures, stock market information and carry trading highlights from 9am to 12noon. It will also feature breaking news, corporate and technology news, traffic advisories, weather updates, and public service announcements after trading hours.
