I can say only one thing - I'm speechless. Just speechless. There aren't as many words as you need to describe this city, one in the most beautiful cities of the entire world. While I was going to the elementary school and the high school we learned a lot about Russian culture, history and arts, especially literature. I was always impressed by Russia as a country, the first words that come to my mind when I hear Russia are power, size, strength and beauty. And Saint Peterburg contains all of that - the size, the strength, the power and the beauty. Dostojevski, Tolstoj and Puškin are one of my favourite writers from Russia, we had to read their masterpieces in school, among them Ana Karenjina, Zločin i kazna, Jevgenij Onjegin, Rat i mir. For example when I was reading the Prestuplenie i nakazanie ( Zločin i kazna in Croatian ) which takes place in Saint Petersburg, I was always imaging the places mentioned in there such as Nevski prospekt and etc. The one poem a remember from school is "Doviđenja dragi, doviđenja ( in Russian "До свиданья" )" written by Sergej Jesenjin:
Do viđenja, dragi, do viđenja;
ti mi, prijatelju, jednom bješe sve.
Urečen rastanak bez našeg htijenja
obećava i sastanak, zar ne?
Do viđenja, dragi, bez ruke, bez slova,
nemoj da ti bol obrve povije -
umrijeti nije ništa na ovom svijetu nova,
al ni živjeti baš nije novije.
Sad poem, but so impressive... Ahhh memories...
Keep up with your work and I hope one of your forumers will come to our section and present this magnificent city to all of us.
Greetings from Zagreb, Croatia.
