I believe that's going to be the location of his new Sicilian restaurant no?

^I thought the red brick building in Brian's post a few posts up was the Sicilian restaurant.

Apartments, retail to replace Ybor Resort & Spa that burned this year (Renderings)
By Ashley Gurbal Kritzer – Senior Reporter, Tampa Bay Business Journal

A new mixed-use building is on track to replace the Ybor Resort and Spa that burned down in early 2017.

A-Investments, a partnership of Darryl Shaw and Ariel Quintela, owns the property at 1512 8th Ave. A-Investments has proposed a four-story mixed-use building on the site, which received unanimous approval from the city's Barrio Latino Commission on Wednesday.

I really like it. Obviously we can't expect a 20 story skyscraper project, so this does the job. I'm glad Ybor has Shaw! Almost every district in Tampa has their own personal developer except West Tampa.

Seems a bit too modern for the area but it looks great regardless.

I like the development itself. It has good scale with brick finishes and floor mosaics to keep with the classic Ybor theme, but it's also modern enough to attract high end tenants.

This might be grasping at straws a bit, but I am *really* at odds with the name. AFAIK, there hasn't been much French influence in Tampa, much less in Ybor City (correct me if i'm wrong). It also seems like a cheap grab at Le Corbusier's Unite d'Habitation. It would make far more sense to give it a Latin or Italian name especially considering the historical area it's located in.

At the very least, though, it's not named "ICON"

On Facebook, someone associated with the development said the name was uncercided -- what appears in the rendering was just the architect playing around with a placeholder.
